Abstract

Identifying and analyzing the relationship between bullying behavior and social media use among elementary school children is the goal of this study, which focuses on the value of self-confidence or the self-confidence character of students. In this study, a descriptive qualitative research methodology was used. The implementation of this research took place at SD Negeri 13 Pekanbaru. The research subjects consisted of high-level students, namely grades IV, V, and VI. The research informants taken by the researcher were upper-class elementary school students such as grades 4, 5, and 6. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. Source, Method, and Time triangulation is used to test the validity of the data. Data collection, data reduction, and data presentation are the initial steps in the data analysis procedure. The study's findings suggest that the influence of social media on bullying behavior can lower the self-esteem of students who experience bullying, as well as inhibit the growth of social skills and all aspects of students' personal lives, including low self-esteem, stress and anxiety, depression, social isolation, difficulty focusing, and poor academic performance.
